On March 4th, a scientific and practical conference on public transport development was held in the capital of the Republic of Dagestan. The event was attended by Rizvan Gazimagomedov, Deputy Prime Minister of Dagestan; Magomed Alisheikhov, Urbantech’s representative; Dmitry Belikov, Deputy General Director of the Federal Motor Transport Agency (Rosavtotrans); Zakhar Adamov, Head of the North Caucasus Railway — a branch of Russian Railways (RZD) in Makhachkala; and Murad Idrisov, Head of the Bank of Russia’s Southern Main Directorate in Dagestan.

The key topics of discussion included the national project “Safe and High-Quality Roads,” the condition and renewal of the public transport fleet, support measures and staffing for the industry, passenger transport safety, and digital technologies in public transport.

UrbanTech’s Magomed Alisheikhov spoke about the advanced approach to improving road safety and about the capabilities of cutting-edge Azimut 4 traffic enforcement cameras being installed on the roads of Dagestan.

He also presented an AI-based solution for monitoring compliance with railway crossing rules using cameras. Due to the implementation of this solution in other regions, there was a 90% decrease in the number of fatalities at locations where video surveillance was installed.

Another state-of-the-art, AI-based digital service that Magomed Alisheikhov spoke about was a system for monitoring the transportation of construction waste. The solution facilitates effective action against illegal construction waste dumping, which inflicts serious damage on the environment. In the Moscow Region, the system has helped reduce the number of illegal construction waste landfills by 57%, saving more than 67 million rubles from the budget.

After the discussion session, guests explored the exhibition and familiarized themselves with the Urbantech booth. The company showcased its proprietary traffic enforcement equipment — Azimut 4 traffic enforcement camera unit, capable of detecting 51 types of traffic violations; Azimut DT vehicle detector, capturing traffic flow parameters and signs of traffic violations; and Azimut Parking traffic enforcement camera unit, recording violations of parking rules.

The conference continued with a plenary session led by Sergey Melikov, Head of the Republic of Dagestan, with the participation of Roman Novikov, Head of Rosavtodor.
