Urbantech Group Shares Experience with Innovative OSSIG Control System, Shortlisted for the Green Award 2024, in Live Broadcast

28.12.2024

The interview focused on the OSSIG Control system for managing the circulation of waste, construction, demolition, and soil, which has been in use in the Moscow Region since 2021. Alexander Vlasov, Sales Director at Urbantech Group, appeared as a guest on the live broadcast of the 360 TV channel.

At the start of the conversation, Alexander emphasized that construction waste is a significant issue across many regions, with illegal dumping sites being the most widespread violation. This practice causes serious damage to ecosystems and poses health risks to the public.

Urbantech Group’s solution enables tracking of construction waste transportation using artificial intelligence and machine vision technologies. The system uses existing traffic enforcement cameras to identify trucks carrying construction waste, monitors their routes, and detects violations, thus preventing unauthorized dumping outside designated landfill sites. The processed images are sent to the analytical module for further examination to verify violations, and reports on potential violators are sent to inspectors from the Ministry of Ecology for investigation.

Since its implementation in the Moscow Region, this tool has reduced illegal construction waste sites by over 60% and saved over 150 million rubles from the regional budget in cleanup costs. The broadcast also covered the use of neural network technologies and the potential for scaling up the project across other regions.

Alexander Vlasov noted that the system received a gold medal at the Golden Autumn agro-industrial exhibition and was supported by Andrey Vorobyov, the Governor of the Moscow Region.

The interview also discussed legal methods for disposing of construction waste in the Moscow Region and the necessary steps to do so.

In conclusion, the future development of the project was addressed. Enhancements to the system are planned for 2025, with the experience gained in the Moscow Region being used to expand it to other regions of the country, especially in cities with over one million inhabitants and significant construction activities and unauthorized dumping sites.
