Urbantech Group completed installation of 200 traffic enforcement cameras on Dagestan roads

Urbantech Group has completed the installation and commissioning of all 200 “Azimut 4” traffic enforcement cameras, as outlined in the concession agreement with the Ministry of Transport and Road Facilities of the Republic of Dagestan.
The “Azimut 4” cameras have been deployed on 24 regional road sections, 21 municipal road sections, and 155 federal highway sections. The locations were selected by the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate in collaboration with the Republic’s transport authorities, based on accident analysis and legal requirements.
The project was entirely funded by investments from Urbantech Group, without the use of public funds. Once operational, all cameras were transferred to the ownership of the Government of the Republic of Dagestan. The company continues to provide round-the-clock technical maintenance and operation of the equipment. Under the terms of the concession agreement, the percentage of non-operational cameras must not exceed 5%. All devices are connected to the federal system of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, known as the “Spider Web”.
The First Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Facilities of the Republic of Dagestan, Murad Ataev, highlighted that implementing the project as a concession allowed the region to launch a large-scale initiative without financial strain on the budget. “Urbantech Group assumed all responsibilities—from hiring qualified specialists and supplying equipment to creating the IT system and providing ongoing technical support. This enabled the swift and effective implementation of cutting-edge traffic violation control technologies in the republic,” he emphasized.
In the first few months of operation, the new system led to a 42% reduction in traffic accidents on the sections where the systems were installed. This demonstrates the high effectiveness of modern approaches to road safety and underscores the importance of such projects for the regions.
