At the Kazan Digital Week International Forum, held on September 9–11 in Kazan, the Urbantech Group showcased their Azimut traffic enforcement cameras, along with AI-based digital services for road, public, and environmental safety. Additionally, company representative Alexander Dombrovsky participated in the Road Safety session.
Among the devices showcased at the booth, the Azimut 4 traffic enforcement camera garnered significant interest from visitors. By the end of 2023, it became the market leader in terms of equipment produced and installed across Russia. Today, more than 40 regions utilize the Azimut 4 cameras to monitor compliance with traffic regulations on the roads.
Visitors also had the opportunity to explore AI-based digital services through video presentations. Among the solutions presented was the OSSiG Control system, which monitors the handling of construction, soil and demolition waste. Since 2021, this system has been effective in combating the problem of illegal construction waste dumping in the Moscow Region. An automated system for ensuring the compliance of the taxi color schemes in the Moscow Region was also demonstrated.
During the Road Safety session, Alexander Dombrovsky, the company’s Deputy CEO, highlighted the sustained positive trend in reducing road accidents in the Moscow Region. Over the past seven years of the company’s operations in the area, the number of traffic accidents and fatalities has decreased by more than 40%, saving over 2,000 human lives. This significant achievement was made possible through a unique integrated approach, built around the company’s proprietary analytical platform, the Road Traffic Safety Analytics Module, which is designed to analyze accidents and improve road safety.
During the event, the amendments to the Federal Law on Highways (FZ-197) were also addressed. Alexander Dombrovsky noted that the revised law has standardized the approaches to the deployment of traffic enforcement cameras:
«I would suggest that we shouldn’t rest on our laurels. For instance, unmanned aerial vehicles could greatly improve the efficiency of monitoring traffic violations, especially for detecting wrong-way driving. As of now, their use is not covered by existing legislation. We would recommend addressing this oversight.»
