Construction waste control platform shortlisted for Green Award
19.11.2024
The Russian Environmental Operator has chosen the top projects for ecology across 13 categories from over 13,500 applications for the Green Award 2024. In the Industry Company Initiatives category, one of the contenders for victory is the Urbantech Group’s OSSiG Control project, a system for monitoring the transportation of demolition, construction, and soil waste.
“The Moscow Region became the first area where the system has been fully implemented and has shown excellent results,” noted Tikhon Firsov, the Minister of Ecology and Nature Management of the Moscow Region. “The OSSiG Control solution enables monitoring of construction waste transportation using artificial intelligence and machine vision technologies. The system’s effectiveness is demonstrated by the fact that, since the beginning of this year, our staff has issued over 1,300 tickets under Article 6.26 of the Moscow Region Administrative Offenses Code for illegal transportation of construction waste—and most violations were detected by surveillance cameras and transport detectors integrated into OSSiG Control.”
The announcement of the results and the awarding of the winners of the Green Award 2024 will take place in December. As a reminder, last year the Moscow Region’s Ministry of Ecology was awarded for implementing intelligent solutions to detect unauthorized transportation of construction, demolition and soil waste.
