CNews Analytics has published the Digitalization of the Transportation Industry 2024 report, which indicates that in 2023, the Urbantech Group secured the leading position among IT suppliers to the transportation sector.

The report highlights that key areas of development in the transportation industry include enhancing road safety and advancing public transportation. The integration of digital solutions plays a vital role in this process, emphasizing the critical impact of the Urbantech Group’s efforts.

The company designs and implements proprietary IT solutions in transportation infrastructure management, control systems, and video analytics. It has been a technological and service partner in traffic enforcement to the Moscow City Government for over five years. Additionally, since 2016, it has managed Russia’s largest road safety system in the Moscow Region. The region has consistently experienced a positive trend in reducing road accident rates for many years. Over the seven years of the company’s operation, the number of traffic accidents and fatalities on roads in the Moscow Region has decreased by more than 40%. This significant improvement has been achieved through a unique, integrated approach, at the core of which lies a specialized, in-house developed analytical platform, the Road Traffic Safety Analytics Module, designed to analyze accidents and enhance road safety

Additionally, the company’s portfolio includes service contracts for supplying and maintaining traffic enforcement units in the Leningrad Region, a concession for installing 200 units across Dagestan’s roads, and the design and implementation of intellectual transportation systems. The introduction of a unified public transport operator in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk boosted schedule adherence by carriers from 40% to 90% and resulted in a 3% annual increase in public transport usage. Furthermore, the company is involved in projects across various Russian regions aimed at setting up paid parking spaces.

The Urbantech Group includes Azimut, a producer of traffic enforcement cameras. The flagship product in their line is the Azimut 4 system, which, by the end of 2023, had become the leader in Russia for the volume of equipment manufactured and installed, with a total of 811 units.

The company actively implements its proprietary, state-of-the-art technological solutions across various regions. For instance, it has developed the OSSiG Control system, which manages the movement of construction, demolition, and soil waste. Since 2021, the OSSiG Control system has effectively addressed the issue of illegal construction waste dumps in the Moscow Region, which significantly harm the environment. It monitors the transportation of construction waste using artificial intelligence and machine vision technology. In the Moscow Region, the system has helped reduce the number of illegal construction waste dumps by 57%, saving more than 150 million rubles from the state budget.

The company’s IT solutions facilitate the full spectrum of tasks required for the digitalization of transport systems and public safety.
