Management of the traffic safety control system in the Moscow Region
Since the deployment of the traffic enforcement system in the Moscow Region, there has been a steady decline in traffic accidents
In 2016, under a concession agreement with the government of the Moscow Region, the MVS Group, part of the Urbantech Group, invested its own funds to design and implement a traffic enforcement system for traffic in the Moscow Region. The placement of the traffic enforcement cameras is determined by the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate in locations with high accident rates. All system components have been transferred to the ownership of the Moscow Region government, with the concessionaire being responsible for the technical maintenance of the system.
Under the Urbantech Group’s management, there are 2,057 traffic enforcement cameras and 778 Safe Region cameras in the Moscow Region.
Since the introduction of the traffic enforcement system in the Moscow Region, there has been a consistent reduction in traffic incidents: the number of accidents, deaths, and injuries has fallen by more than 40%. Over the course of its operation, the system has contributed to saving over 2,000 lives.
